The Grand Bazaar of Evolution

The exhibition tells the long story of life on Earth, its significant events, its wonders, its surprises, and its findings, from the appearance of the first living things in water 3.5 billion years ago to the current threat of biodiversity loss. It also shows how simple mechanisms such as selection, chance, symbiosis and the intertwining of species have been able to produce the astonishing diversity of living things. With a bias: that we should revolutionise our view of the biodiversity that surrounds us and of which we form part.

With four different sections and using the outstanding Garden’s collections as a focal point, this exhibition will allow the visitors to roam through and discover the majority of our botanical Garden, from the lake side to the pond located behind the Winter Garden.
