Guided visit

Botanical discovery of the Indian Ocean and Sea of Japan

Tuesday 6 September 2022, 12:30

In the 17th century, the Dutch East Indies Company set out to conquer the waves. It would dominate the spice trade until the end of the 18thcentury , from the Indian Ocean to Japan.

Naturalist doctors would bring back botanical treasures from their journeys, which are now conserved in Geneva.
